Description:
Julian A. Rodriguez has reported a vulnerability in Phorum, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.

Input passed as private messages or forum posts is not properly sanitised for nested "[img]" tags before being stored. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which is executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious data is viewed.

Successful exploitation requires that the BBcode module is enabled.

The vulnerability is reported in version 5.2.8. Prior versions may also be affected.
