Description: A security issue has been reported in Apache on big-endian 64bit systems, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain restrictions.
The problem is that "mod_access" fails to properly enforce IP restrictions that are defined without a proper netmask. This may allow access to restricted resources.
The issue affects Apache 1.3.29 and prior on big-endian 64bit systems. Other architectures are not affected.
Solution: The development version 1.3.31 is not vulnerable.
Specify rules with proper netmasks and verify that they work as intended.
Provided and/or discovered by: Discovered independently by the following:
* TTSG Internet Services
* Henning Brauer, OpenBSD.
