Description: Markus Wörle has reported a vulnerability in Icecast, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.
The status-display CGI script ("list.cgi") in the icecast internal web server does not sanitise input passed in "User-Agent:" headers before displaying it. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when a malicious entry is viewed.
The vulnerability has been reported in versions 1.3.11 and 1.3.12. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Filter malicious characters and character sequences in a proxy server.
Provided and/or discovered by: Markus Wörle
