Description:
FraMe has discovered a vulnerability in PHP, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to access files outside the "open_basedir" root.

The vulnerability is caused due to some CURL functions not obeying the "open_basedir" directive, which is designed to restrict PHP scripts in certain environments from accessing files outside the defined root directories. This can be exploited to access files outside the "open_basedir" root by using the functions "curl_init()" and "curl_exec()".

The vulnerability has been confirmed on PHP version 4.3.8 with CURL 7.10.6. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to version 4.3.11 or 5.0.4.
