Description:
SGI has reported a vulnerability in nfs-utils, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the NFS statd server in "statd.c" where the "SIGPIPE" signal is not correctly ignored. This can be exploited to crash a vulnerable service via a malicious peer terminating a TCP connection prematurely.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.0.6. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
The vulnerability has been fixed in version 1.0.7-pre1.
