CVE-2004-1385

Description:
James Bercegay has reported some vulnerabilities in phpGroupWare, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "kp3", "type", "msg", "forum_id", "pos", "cats_app", "cat_id", "msgball[msgnum]", and "to" parameters in "index.php", and the "ticket_id" parameter in "viewticket_details.php", isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of a vulnerable site.

2) Input passed to the "order", "project_id", "hours_id", and "pro_main" parameters in "index.php", and the "ticket_id" parameter in "viewticket_details.php" is not properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

It is also possible to disclose the full path to the installation by accessing "preferences.php" and "index.php" with invalid parameters.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 0.9.16.003. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to version 0.9.16.004.
