Description: Tavis Ormandy has reported a vulnerability in GProftpd, which can be exploited by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error in the FTP log parser and can be exploited by transferring a file with a specially crafted filename.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code when the transfer log is parsed with the gprostats utility.
Solution: Update to version 8.1.9.
