Description:
Tavis Ormandy has reported a vulnerability in xv, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error in the handling of image filenames. This may be exploited to execute arbitrary code by tricking a user into processing an image with a specially crafted filename.

Solution:
Do not process images from untrusted sources with strange filenames.
