Description: Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Pixelpost, which can be exploited by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable system and by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks, disclose system information, and conduct SQL injection attacks.
1) Input passed in user comments is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in e.g. an administrative user's browser session when opening the "comments" menu in the admin CP.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.4.3. Other versions may also be affected.
2) Input passed to the "showinfo" parameter in "index.php" is not properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Successful exploitation requires "magic_quotes_gpc" to be disabled.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.4.3. Other versions may also be affected.
3) Input passed to the HTTP_USER_AGENT header is not properly sanitised in "includes/functions.php" before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.4.3. Other versions may also be affected.
4) Improper restrictions to "includes/phpinfo.php" reveal system configuration information via the phpinfo() function.
This security issue has been confirmed in version 1.4.3. Other versions may also be affected.
5) Input passed to the "category" and "archivedate" parameters in "index.php" is not properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.4.3 and also reported in version 1.5rc1-2. Other versions may also be affected.
6) Input passed to the "loginmessage" parameter in "/admin/index.php" isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.4.3 and also reported in version 1.5rc1-2. Other versions may also be affected.
7) Administrative users can upload arbitrary files to locations inside the web root, which can be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.5. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: 1-6) The vulnerabilities have been fixed in version 1.5.
7) Grant only trusted users administrative access to the application.
