Description: Lincoln Stein has reported a security issue in Crypt::CBC, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions.
The security issue is caused due to an error within the handling of 16-byte IV (Initialisation Vector) when the RandomIV-style header is used. This can cause the latter 8 bytes of each block to be CBC encrypted with a constant IV of 0's when the Rijndael cipher (or other ciphers with 16-byte block size) is used.
The security issue has been reported in version 2.16 and prior.
Solution: Update to version 2.17.
