Description:
KeyShore and KeyYog have discovered a vulnerability in Calcium, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.

Input passed to the "EventText" parameter when adding a new event isn't properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious event is viewed.

The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 3.10.1. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Disable the "HTML in Events" setting (enabled by default) on the "Display Settings" administration menu.

Grant only trusted users permissions to add events.

Provided and/or discovered by:
KeyShore and KeyYog
