Description:
Ulf Harnhammar has reported a vulnerability in cURL/libcURL, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the parsing of a URL that contains the TFTP protocol prefix "tftp://". This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially-crafted URL that consist of a valid hostname and a path that is longer than 512 bytes.

Successful exploitation requires that the user is e.g. tricked into using cURL with a specially-crafted URL or to use cURL with a HTTP server that redirects to a malicious tftp URL.

The vulnerability has been reported in versions 7.15.0 through 7.15.2.

Solution:
Update to version 7.15.3.
