Description:
Matteo Rosi has reported a vulnerability in Hostapd, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the handling of the key_data_length field of an EAPoL frame. This can be exploited to crash the hostapd daemon via a specially crafted EAPoL frame with an overly large value in the length field.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 0.3.7. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to version 0.3.9 or later.
