Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in XScreenSaver, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to perform certain actions with escalated privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to the temporary files being created insecurely in the "/tmp" directory by "driver/passwd-kerberos.c", "driver/xscreensaver-getimage-video", "driver/xscreensaver.kss.in", "vidwhacker", and "webcollage". This can be exploited via symlink attacks to create or overwrite arbitrary files with privileges of the user running the application.

The vulnerability has been reported in versions prior to 4.15.

Solution:
Update to version 4.15 or later.
