Description:
George D. Gal has reported a vulnerability in PDF Form Filling and Flattening Tool, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the handling of form field names. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via an overly long field name, supplied either via a malicious control file or via the command line.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 3.0 for Windows. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
The vulnerability has reportedly been fixed in version 3.1.0.12 released on 2006-05-10.
