Description:
Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Microsoft Windows, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

1) A boundary error in the Hyperlink Object library (hlink.dll) when handling Hyperlinks in e.g. Excel documents can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by tricking a user into clicking a specially crafted Hyperlink in a malicious Excel document.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

2) A boundary error in the Hyperlink Object library when using a file containing a malformed function while handling hyperlinks can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

Solution:
Apply patches.
