CVE-2006-3421
CVE-2006-7074

Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in SmartSiteCMS, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions or to compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Input passed to the "root" parameter in include/inc_foot.php, admin/test.php, admin/index.php, and admin/include/inc_adminfoot.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code by including files from local or external resources.

Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.

2) An error in the authentication process can be exploited to access the administration section without providing any user credentials by setting the "userName" cookie parameter to an arbitrary value.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 1.0. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified. Restrict access to the admin directory (e.g. via a .htaccess file).
