CVE-2006-3884
CVE-2006-3932
CVE-2006-4462

Description:
simo64 has discovered some vulnerabilities in LinksCaffe, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions, and to conduct cross-site scripting and SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "cat", "link_id", "newdays", and "offset" parameters in links.php is not properly sanitised before being used in an SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. Since part of the "newdays" parameter is included in the SQL error message, this can also be exploited to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Successful exploitation via the "cat" parameter requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.

2) Input passed to the "tablewidth" parameter in counter.php and the "tableborder", "menucolor", "textcolor", and "bodycolor" parameters in menu.inc.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

3) An error in the authentication process can be exploited to access the administration section by accessing [adminpath]/admin1953.php directly.

Successful exploitation requires knowledge of the path to the admin section.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 3.0. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised. Restrict access to the administration section e.g. via a .htaccess file.
