Description: Tan Chew Keong has reported a vulnerability in Lhaplus, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the handling of LZH files. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow when a specially crafted LZH file is extracted.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code with the user's privileges.
A potential integer underflow vulnerability has also been reported.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.52. Prior versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 1.53.
