CVE reference:CVE-2006-3961

Description:
eEye Digital Security has reported a vulnerability in various McAfee products, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the SecurityCenter Subscription Manager ActiveX control (McSubMgr.dll). This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by passing an overly long string (more than 3000 bytes) to e.g. the IsAppExpired ActiveX member.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code when a user e.g. visits a malicious web site.

The vulnerability affects versions 4.3 through 6.0.22.

Solution:
Update to SecurityCenter 6.0.23 or later.
