CVE-2006-4425

Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in phpCOIN, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct HTTP response splitting attacks and to compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Input passed to the "_CCFG[_PKG_PATH_INCL]" parameter in multiple files is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code by including files from local or external resources.

Examples:
http://[host]/coin_includes/api.php?_CCFG[_PKG_PATH_INCL]=[file]
http://[host]/coin_includes/common.php?_CCFG[_PKG_PATH_INCL]=[file]
http://[host]/coin_includes/constants.php?_CCFG[_PKG_PATH_INCL]=[file]
http://[host]/coin_includes/core.php?_CCFG[_PKG_PATH_INCL]=[file]
http://[host]/coin_includes/custom.php?_CCFG[_PKG_PATH_INCL]=[file]
http://[host]/coin_includes/db.php?_CCFG[_PKG_PATH_INCL]=[file]
http://[host]/coin_includes/redirect.php?_CCFG[_PKG_PATH_INCL]=[file]
http://[host]/coin_includes/session_set.php?_CCFG[_PKG_PATH_INCL]=[file]

Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 1.2.3. Other versions may also be affected.

2) Input passed to unspecified parameters is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTTP headers, which will be included in a response sent to the user.

The vulnerability has been reported in versions prior to 1.2.4.

Solution:
Update to version 1.2.4.
