Description: Ang Way Chuang has reported a vulnerability in the Linux Kernel, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the ULE (Unidirectional Lightweight Encapsulation) decapsulation code when processing ULE packets. This can be exploited to crash the system by sending a malicious ULE packet with an SNDU (Sub Network Data Unit) size of 0.
The vulnerability is reported in version 2.6.17.11. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 2.6.16.30 or later for the 2.6.16.x branch or 2.6.17.14 or later for the 2.6.17.x branch.
