Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in FFmpeg, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and potentially compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerabilities are caused due to various boundary errors within libavformat/rm.c, libavformat/sierravmd.c, libavformat/smacker.c, libavformat/tta.c, libavcodec/vorbis.c, libavcodec/dtsdec.c, libavcodec/4xm.c, libavcodec/alac.c, libavcodec/cook.c, libavcodec/shorten.c, libavcodec/snow.c, libavcodec/tta.c, and libavcodec/smacker.c. This can be exploited to cause buffer overflows when a specially crafted media file is opened.

Successful exploitation may potentially allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerabilities have been fixed in the CVS repository.
