|
|
Description: Greg Linares has discovered two vulnerabilities in ALFTP FTP Server, which can be exploited by malicious users to gain knowledge of certain system information and to perform certain actions on the vulnerable system.
1) An input validation error in the MKD command allows users to create arbitrary folders outside of the FTP root via directory traversal attacks.
2) An error in the processing of the REN command allows for the disclosure of the ALFTP server path.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 4.1 beta 1.
Solution: Grant access to trusted users only.
Provided and/or discovered by: Greg Linares
Changelog: 2006-11-20: Added CVE reference.
