Description:
dugsong has discovered a vulnerability in Mac OS X, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in kevent() when registering a kernel event with a kernel event queue that was created by a parent process. This can be exploited to cause a system panic.

The vulnerability is confirmed in Mac OS X 10.4.8. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to Mac OS X 10.4.11 or apply Security Update 2007-008.
