Description:
LMH has reported a vulnerability in Mac OS X, which potentially can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the "shared_region_make_private_np()" syscall. This can be exploited to allocate a large amount of memory and causes the system to hang.

The vulnerability is reported in a fully patched Mac OS X (28-11-2006). Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to Mac OS X 10.4.9 or install Security Update 2007-003.
