Description: rgod has discovered a vulnerability in Golden FTP, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the processing of arguments passed to the "USER" command and can be exploited by passing an overly long string (more than 5,000 bytes).
Successful exploitation causes the service to become unresponsive.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.92. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Filter overly long requests to the FTP service in a proxy.
