Description: Lostmon has discovered some vulnerabilities in PHP iCalendar, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
1) Input passed to the "getdate" parameter in phpicalendar/day.php, phpicalendar/week.php, phpicalendar/month.php, phpicalendar/year.php, phpicalendar/search.php, phpicalendar/preferences.php, phpicalendar/print.php, and phpicalendar/rss/index.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in versions 2.23rc1 and 2.24. Other versions may also be affected.
2) Input passed to the "cpath" parameter in phpicalendar/day.php, phpicalendar/week.php, phpicalendar/month.php, phpicalendar/year.php, and phpicalendar/search.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.23rc1. Other versions may also be affected.
3) Input passed to the "query" parameter in phpicalendar/search.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.23rc1. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 2.24, which fixes vulnerabilities #2 and #3. Edit the source code to ensure the input is properly sanitised.
