Description:
Sowhat has reported two vulnerabilities in Sina UC, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

1) A boundary error in the BRWOSSRE2UC.dll ActiveX Control when handling the "SendChatRoomOpt()" method can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by passing an overly long string (greater than 5000 bytes) as the first argument.

2) A boundary error in the BRWOSSRE2UC.dll ActiveX Control when handling the "SendDownLoadFile()" method can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by passing an overly long string as the astrDownDir argument.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code when a user e.g. visits a malicious website.

The vulnerability is reported in UC2006. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Set the killbit for the affected ActiveX control.
