Description: Parvez Anwar has discovered a vulnerability in GOM Player, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error and can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow when a specially crafted ASX playlist file containing an overly long URI in the "ref href" tag is opened.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 2.0.12.3375. Other versions may also be affected.
