Description: Ivan Fratric has reported a vulnerability in Web Wiz Forums, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks.
Input passed to the "name" parameter in pop_up_member_search.asp is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Successful exploitation requires running the MySQL version.
NOTE: Many other parameters may potentially be vulnerable, as this affects a well-used function in the product's code.
The vulnerability is reported in version 8.05. Prior versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 8.05a.
Provided and/or discovered by: Ivan Fratric
Changelog: 2007-03-26: Added CVE reference.
