Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in the Articles module for Xoops, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "id" parameter in print.php is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

2) Input passed to the "cat_id" parameter in index.php is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation of either vulnerability allows e.g. retrieving password hashes, but requires access to the module.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.02. Prior versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to version 1.03.
