CVE reference:CVE-2007-2306
CVE-2007-2312

Description:
Janek Vind has discovered some vulnerabilities in the vWar module for PHP-Nuke, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks and cross-site scripting attacks.

1) Input passed to the "n" parameter in extra/online.php is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation allows e.g. retrieving administrator usernames, password hashes, and e-mail addresses, but requires knowledge of vWar's database table prefix.

2) Input passed to the "title" parameter in extra/today.php (when "whattoshow" is set to "3") is not properly sanitised before being returned to a user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

3) Input passed to the "memberlist" parameter in extra/login.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to a user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires that the target user is not logged in.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.5 R15. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
