Description:
shinnai has discovered some vulnerabilities in Word Viewer OCX, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerabilities are caused due to boundary errors within the Word Viewer ActiveX control (WordViewer.ocx). These can be exploited to cause stack-based buffer overflows via overly long arguments passed to certain methods (e.g. "HttpDownloadFile()" or "OpenWebFile()").

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code when a user visits a malicious website.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 3.2.0.5. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
