Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in Apache Tomcat, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
Input passed to form field parameters in the Manager and Host Manager web applications (e.g. in manager/html/upload) is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
Successful exploitation requires that the user is logged in.
The following versions are affected:
* Tomcat 4.0.0 to 4.0.6
* Tomcat 4.1.0 to 4.1.36
* Tomcat 5.0.0 to 5.0.30
* Tomcat 5.5.0 to 5.5.24
* Tomcat 6.0.0 to 6.0.13
Solution:
Update to version 5.5.25 or 6.0.14.
The vulnerability is also fixed in 4.1.HEAD.
