Description:
Sun has acknowledged a vulnerability in Sun Solaris, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to a race condition error within the Solaris Remote Procedure Call module (rpcmod) and can be exploited to trigger a NULL pointer dereference.

The vulnerability is reported in Sun Solaris 8, 9, and 10 for both the SPARC and x86 platforms.

Solution:
Apply patches.

Solaris 10:
