Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in Sun Solaris, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the TCP implementation and can be exploited to e.g. cause network connections to time out or to cause certain systems to consume large amounts of CPU resources via a TCP SYN flood.

The impact of a DoS is decreased If the ndd(1M) tunable "tcp_conn_req_max_q0" is set to a value less than the default value of 1024.

The vulnerability is reported in Solaris 8, 9, and 10 for both the SPARC and x86 platforms.

Apply patches.
