Description: A vulnerability has been reported in openwsman, which can be exploited by malicious users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the processing of "Content-Length" headers in openwsmand. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted packet.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code, but requires valid openwsman user credentials.
This is related to vulnerability #3 in:
SA30556
The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 1.5.2. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 1.5.2, which prevents potential code execution.
NOTE: In certain environments it is still possible to cause openwsmand to crash.
