Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Moodle, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions.

1) Vulnerabilities are caused due to insufficient filtering functions within /lib/kses.php and lib/weblib.php and can be exploited to bypass HTML filtering policies.

2) Input passed to a call to "preg_replace()" with the "e" modifier in kses.php is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject and execute arbitrary PHP code.

The vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 1.8.5.

Solution:
Update to version 1.8.5 or upgrade to version 1.9.

The vendor recommends to use the option "Use HTML Purifier" in version 1.9.
