Description:
Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in SAP Internet Transaction Server (ITS), which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose various information and conduct Cross-Site Scripting attacks.

The vulnerabilities are all present in "wgate.dll" and are caused due to missing validation of input supplied to the "~service", "~templatelanguage", "~language", "~theme", and "~template" parameters.

1) It is possible to make the server return error messages containing various system information about the operating system, software version, and the directory structure by supplying invalid input to the parameters.

2) The content of arbitrary files may be disclosed by supplying specially crafted input to the "~theme" and "~template" parameters. This can eg. be exploited to access the configuration file "global.srvc", which contains the username and a DES encrypted password.

3) It is possible to conduct Cross-Site Scripting attacks against users by supplying arbitrary script code to the "~service" parameter.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 4620.2.0.323011, build 46B.323011 (win32/IIS 5.0). However, other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Reportedly, SAP has issued patches.

See SAP advice 598074, 595383, and 654038.
