Description

Sun has reported a vulnerability in Solaris, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to potentially gain knowledge of sensitive information.

The vulnerability is caused due to an undisclosed vulnerability in the "sysinfo()" system call, which can be exploited to read arbitrary portions of kernel memory.

The vulnerability affects versions 2.6 through 9 on SPARC platforms and versions 2.6 through 8 on x86 platforms.
