Description

Sun has reported a vulnerability in Solaris, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to a race condition in the kernel during high loads when working as a print server. This can according to Sun be exploited by running a malicious application, which uses the "pipe()" system call and certain STREAMS routines.

The vulnerability affects versions 2.6 through 9 on all platforms.
