Description

Sun has acknowledged two vulnerabilities in Solstice X.25, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or compromise a vulnerable system.

An error in the handling of SNMP requests can be exploited to cause the snmpx25d daemon to crash.

A boundary error in the snmpx25d daemon can be exploited to execute arbitrary code with the daemon's privileges.

The vulnerabilities affect the following releases:

* X.25 9.1 (for Solaris 2.4, 2.5, 2.5.1, 2.6, and 7)
* X.25 9.2 (for Solaris 7, 8, and 9)

Solution
