Description: A vulnerability has been reported in Apache Cocoon, which can be exploited by malicious users to gain knowledge of sensitive information.
The vulnerability is caused due to the sample "view-source" not performing proper validation on input supplied to the "filename" parameter. This can be exploited via a directory traversal attack to access arbitrary files on the system.
Example:
http://[victim]:8888/samples/view-source?filename=../../../[existing_file]
The vulnerability affects the following releases:
* Apache Cocoon version 2.1 before 22 Oct 2003 12:00
* Apache Cocoon version 2.2 (Development) before 22 Oct 2003 12:00
