Description: A vulnerability has been reported in Clam AntiVirus, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and potentially compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error in the handling of sender email addresses when a virus rule is triggered. This can be exploited by sending an email with a specially crafted sender address containing format specifiers and has a virus attached.
Successful exploitation requires that system logging is enabled and that clamav-milter is used.
The vulnerability has been reported in versions 0.60 through 0.60p.
