Description

Sun has acknowledged a vulnerability in Sun One Web Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to manipulate log entries.

The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error allowing script code to be embedded in log files, spoof entries or completely hide them from the log analysing utilities.

Successful exploitation requires that client hostnames are logged (not default setting).
