Description:
A vulnerability has been identified in HP-UX, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to escalate their privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in dtmailpr when handling the "DISPLAY" environment variable. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by setting an overly long value in "DISPLAY".

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code with "root" privileges.

The vulnerability affects HP-UX versions B.11.00, B.11.11, B.11.22, and B.11.23.
