Description: Jeremy Jethro has discovered a vulnerability in HP-UX, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the DCE server. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by sending a specially crafted packet to a vulnerable DCE server.
According to the vendor, the vulnerability can only be exploited to cause the server to fail. However, @stake reports that successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability affects HP-UX B.11.00, B.11.11, and B.11.23.
