Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in GNU Screen, which potentially can be exploited by malicious, local users to escalate their privileges on a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to an integer signedness error, which can lead to an integer overflow. This can be exploited by supplying 2GB of semi-colon (";") characters in an escape sequence.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code with the privileges of screen (typically user "root" or group "utmp").

The vulnerability has been reported in versions 4.0.1, 3.9.15 and prior.
