Description: A vulnerability has been identified in HP-UX, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to escalate their privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to the shar utility creating temporary files with predictable names in the "/tmp" directory. This can be exploited via symlink attacks to e.g. overwrite arbitrary files with another user's privileges.
The vulnerability affects HP9000 servers running HP-UX B.11.00, B.11.04, and B.11.11.
